Old State was established in 1998 primarily as the result of my Penn State MBA Project. Old State was located at 310 East College Ave (the location of the former Roy Rogers for older Alums) and customers entered the store through "Lion Doors." At that location, Old State housed custom screen printing and embroidery and had Penn State licensed apparel and products available for retail sale.
As demand increased, Old State opened a new 8,900 square foot custom screen printing and embroidery facility in Pleasant Gap, PA and converted the retail space downtown to a sales floor. Then in 2006, Old State opened a second retail store on campus inside the Penn State Visitor's Center located next to Beaver Stadium. And finally in 2009 Old State moved into a fully remodeled store in the heart of downtown State College at the corner of Allen Street and Beaver Ave where it continues to reside today. In addition oldstate.com reaches and ships worldwide.
If you are a student, alumni or fan you understand that Penn State and all of Happy Valley is more than just a location, it is an experiential state of mind...
